Military Stuff (April 2018)

Well, what we had known since last August was finally upon us; Chris was going on an unaccompanied duty assignment in May to Afghanistan for a year +. He had been selected, by name, for an above rank position due to his expertise (read multiple deployments) in Afghanistan.   But before the actual sendoff, there was a lot of preliminary ceremonies and parties and what not.

First off, I was able to get all spiffed up and attend a formal dinner event with "The Commander".  I always love any chance I get to go out with my hubby!

Next, Chris' Battalion threw it's 2nd Annual Battalion Ball.  This time they did a Roaring 20's Gatsby theme.  We all had fun getting dressed up and dancing the night away!

Love, love, love watching my hubby dance with our girls!

And finally, the day Chris had been dreading since he took command - the day he had to let it go.  Chris truly puts his whole heart and soul into everything he does. He gave everything he had,  including countless hours, into taking care of  his soldiers and accomplishing the unit's mission. Nothing was perfect, of course, and there was a lot of frustration along the way, but progress was made and he definitely had an impact on the men and women he served with.  A job well done, to be sure.  Love you Hunny!  So proud of you in all your accomplishments!

We will miss you 4/7.  Thanks for the journey.

This is the Command Coin Chris designed for his Battalion.  We each received one as a memento.

Dang Stacy, you look stunning in that dress! Wow! I love how you continue to support Chris and his military assignments with such a good attitude, time and time again.
