The Trio: Hermana Goulding, Hermana Fleitas, Y Hermana O'Gwin (July - August 2021)

So, in July Aly got a new Mission President, Presidente Faundez, from Chile.  Transfers were coming up and Aly didn't know what to expect.  She felt like she would be training, but didn't know if her Spanish was strong enough to train an American.  Well, Heavenly Father knows best.  When transfers came, Aly and Hermana Fleitas were to stay together in the Costa Bonita Ward in Villa Elisa, Paraguay, to train a new missionary, Hermana Goulding.  Hermana Goulding is tall, went to BYU before her mission, and was a great addition to mix things up in this companionship.  Following is going to be mostly a photo dump of the pictures (not even all!) that Aly has sent me.

One fun thing about transfers is that you get to connect with previous companions and friends.

Aly loves that new mission rules allow for the sisters to wear pants.

There are always cows . . . and they must always be photographed.

Not sure what is happening here . . . not sure I want to know.

Taking advantage of the height difference.

Hitting the 6 month mark!

"Life without Jesus has no meaning"

Exchanges!!!

Aly had a dress that she loved the pattern, but the top was bugging her.  She and Hermana Fleitas decided to take matters into their own hands and turn the dress into a skirt!

Do we focus on the trash in the trench here or the fact that Aly's new skirt turned out amazing?!?

"Wash your hands"  The worldwide pandemic is still a thing . . .

Since Aly is in the southern hemisphere, July and August are actually winter there.  And with the humidity and no heat in her apartment, Aly has had some cold days!!

One happy pday was when all of Alys packages that had been sent at various times over the past 3 months showed up at the same time.  It was a little rough carrying garbage sacks full of boxes around for the day, but Aly was very grateful for her new shoes, vitamins, peanut butter, and chocolate. 😁

Missionary work is not all work. . .

. . . sometimes you get to be silly a bit and explore the beautiful sights of Paraguay.

But there is a work to do, and the missionaries are God's army out in force giving of themselves to make it happen.   Here they are, flooding the earth with the Book of Mormon, tracting, bearing testimony, and inviting others to learn more about the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Of course, the best part of a mission is getting to help Heavenly Father's children on their journey back home.  Here is Aly and her companions with this sweet Sister, Claudia, who got baptized.  **Spoiler alert!** Now she wants the missionaries to teach her sister as well.  Converts make the best missionaries!

In the end, it's all about the people: the people you serve, the people you serve with, and inviting all to come unto Christ.

Crushing it!
