Due to the timing of Chris taking Battalion Command, he took leave starting the beginning of May. Normally we try to take leave when the kids are out of school to go on vacation, but this afforded itself some unique opportunities. First of all, Chris was able to attend a lot of the girls end-of-the-year awards' ceremonies, field days, etc. that he would normally have missed. He took some time to get himself organized and ready for command, read some of the books he's been wanting to get to, converted all our home video VHS tapes to DVD's (thanks hunnay!), as well as went on a healthy meals kick where we had my friend teach us how to make homemade Kind Bars, protein banana/chocolate smoothies, power balls, pumpkin cookies, etc. The other thing we were able to do was go on an overnight retreat for our 16th year anniversary. (Thanks to my friends for watching the girls for me!)
We had a great couple of days, starting out with doing sealings at the temple. It couldn't have been better. After that we took some time to explore a little more of Louisville. We hit the Louisville Slugger Museum/Factory where we were able to see how they make the bats for the Major League players.

| Love this little Ripley's Believe it or Not clown car! |
That night it was a yummy steak dinner and finally getting to see Captain America: Civil War.
The Next Day we went to the Walking Bridge (not sure of its official name) that crosses from Kentucky, over the Ohio River into Indiana. Super fun for a stroll or a bike ride.
We also hit the Patton Museum. It is right on Fort Knox and Chris had been wanting to visit it since we moved here. Good thing to check off our bucket list and it had some pretty cool stuff inside too!
The best part of course was just spending time with my hubby. I love being married to my best friend!

. . . putting programs on their head and mooching balloons off of other people.

Oh how we love the Paine's house. They always make us feel so loved and welcome and totally cater to all my girls whims by providing bikes, games, Perler's (and any other fun crafts you can think of), a trampoline, swings, and all the barbie toys you could wish for. What's not to love? Plus, whenever I go there I can just feel myself relax. Love the company and the spirit in their home. So blessed to be related to these people!
