A Kate Quiz

So, you think you're a Kate expert?  Well, take the following quiz, answering the questions as if you were Kate, and find out!

1) Your mom asks you to take out the recycling, but you don't want to do it.  You:
a) Hide the recycle bin behind the beach cart in the garage and say you can't find it,
b) Try to recycle the garbage bin we store recycling in so that you'll never have to do recycling again!
c) Go with the passive aggressive approach and hide your mom's toothbrush and toothpaste.  You'll show her who she's dealing with!
d) Whine about it for about an hour, but eventually do it as grumpily as possible because you aren't allowed to eat dinner until you've done your job.
e) All of the above

2) You find Saturday chores so boring.  To try and make it more interesting for yourself you:
a) Put on some music to sing along to while you work
b) try to use the plunger as a Pogo stick in the living room
c) decide to use the kitchen sponge to clean the toilet and then put it back  - Mom will never even notice!
d) get Kylie to help you so you can "train her" how to do the chores, and then complain to mom that Kylie doesn't have as many chores as you
e) all of the above

3) Mom didn't get all her chores done on Saturday because she was making you do yours.  You can see she needs help so you:
a) Offer to vacuum for her
b) clean up all your toys so she can vacuum
c) Ask Mom why she makes you do your chores when she didn't even get her chores done
d) Say a prayer that Mom will get her chores done and that it won't take her all week
e) A & B
f) C& D

4) It's time for family prayers and Kylie sat in your spot.  You get mad and hit Kylie in the head with a bouncy ball, getting you sent to your room.  Later, Mom comes and asks you to come up with other ways you could have handled the situation that wouldn't get you into trouble.  You come up with:
a) Go sit with mom instead
b) ask Kylie nicely to move
c) sit on Kylie's head, that way you would both technically be sharing the same spot
d) start a pillow fight
e) A & B
f) C & D

answers 1)e 2)e 3)f 4)f

1 right - You've never been to our house!
2 right - You are aware of Kate's Jekyl and Hyde personality and thought she'd go 50/50
3 right - Kate Savvy, but still giving her the benefit of the doubt
4 right - Kate expert!

Well, I hope you've enjoyed this quiz.  Of course, I do need to say that Kate is really a sweetheart who loves sharing her gum, vitamin C's, candy, or toys with her sisters, loves playing with her sisters, and is always excited about trying new things, showing me her art projects, snuggling with me for movie night and exploring.  She really is a joy to have around and keeps things interesting.  Sometimes it's just easier to enjoy her in retrospect. Oh how I love my Kater Bug.

A Hoot and a Holler

So, I was retrieving something that fell behind the computer desk the other day when I found another paper that had fallen back there from a while ago with funny quotes from the kids that I meant to blog about.  They were too good to pass up.  Add to that a couple of quotes from the past week or so and I decided to jot them down.  Hopefully at least one will strike your fancy.

First is a conversation between Kylie and Chris before he deployed.  Kylie was going to the bathroom when Chris shouted in to her . . .
Chris - Hey Ky-stinator!  What you doin' in there? Poopin'?
Kylie - No, Dad, it's just your 'magination.

Today in the car Kylie was bossing me around.
Me - Kylie, you're not the boss.
Kylie - Well, I'm the boss of Dad.
Me - Who told you that?
Kylie - Kate.
(I guess Kate said that everybody in the family was the boss of the person younger than them and then Kylie got to be the boss of Chris.  Smooth, very smooth.)

This one is not a quote, but I love how Kylie calls tomatoes "Benadoes".

And finally for Kylie, when my girls wash their hair in the bath and have it all mopped up on top of their heads they say that they look like boys.  Well, Kylie was washing her hair in the tub and said, "I look like a Dude!"  Then she went on to tell me that she liked being a girl though and she thinks that her dad would like to be a girl too.  Chris has assured me that he is completely happy being a boy.

Here's a quote from Aly, "Lise, we can't digest our food if we throw it up; we're not cows!"

Aly is somehow on the cow train right now, because lately she has started calling me "Moo-dah".  I think that's pretty funny because about the time I turned 12 I started calling my parents Madre and Padre, with the most annoying gringo accent possible.

And tonight at dinner Lise randomly came out with "Don't ever go to a tea party with Chinese people."
Me - Why?
Lise - Because in China if you lift up your pinky finger it's the same as the middle finger for us, so if you lift up your pinky to drink your tea then they'll think you're cussing at them!
(Nevermind the fact that we don't drink tea and that China is on the other side of the planet.  This is nevertheless, excellent advice. ;)>)

Never a dull moment I tell ya.  Never a dull moment.
