The Last 8 Weeks - Kylie

So, it had come to that time that all my children go through, when they start having ear infections every other week until the doctor finally says we've had enough to either take out the tonsils and adnoids or put tubes in the ears.  In Kylie's case it was tubes in the ears.    The hardest part was that I wasn't able to give her milk in the morning that she always wants when she first wakes up.  But she did really well and recovered quickly.  The nurses all thought she was a doll.  And I need to give a huge shout out to the older girls for getting themselves off to school and my awesome neighbor down the street who came over to get Kate off to preschool.  (Chris was gone, of course, but ya do what you gotta do, and it's amazing how many awesome people are out there willing to help!)  Also, another bonus was that within a week after the tubes were in, Kylie started talking in short sentences.  She was doing great with words before, but after the tubes she just took off.  I love hearing all the things she's thinking about . . . although she can be a little bossy at times.
Kylie has also been my awesome tag along buddy for the past few weeks to all the girls end of year activities, from soccer games to field day.  It has worked out great that she is such a goer and wants to do what everyone else is doing since we always have plenty going on.  One of her favorite phrases is "me come, me come."

Obviously Kylie wants to be like everybody else by wearing their stuff too, from hats and hair accessories, to shoes and  sunglasses (she's already broken 3 pairs of sunglasses.)
Another one of Kylie's favorite things is music.  She will demand  we turn it on in the car ("usic!, usic!") so she can be-bop her little head along, or come pull on my hand to "dance".

Kylie has also started saying prayers and reading scriptures with help.  It is so cute to hear her little voice.  When she says "Heavenly Father" it sounds like she's saying "Peanut Butter".  Too cute.

I do need to put a note in here that, as sweet as Kylie is, she has become a full blown two year old in the past 8 weeks (even though she's only 21 months old). She can throw a mean temper tantrum when she wants to!

I also especially love this picture of Kylie in Chris' boots because it just reminds me of how much Kylie loves her dad.  Every day when he gets home from work she comes squealing up to him "Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!"  And then the next words out of her mouth are always "me frow" (throw me).  She loves having her daddy throw her in the air.

Along with the "go, go, go" Kylie just plain likes being outside, and if she can be in her swimming suit, all the better.  The other girls have had swimming lessons this past couple of weeks and it has been torturous for her not to get into her swimming suit too.  I would have totally been up for mommy and me swim lessons, had it not been for the tubes in her ears.  Oh la, maybe next year!  But obviously tubes are not cramming our style at the beach or the splash pad.  And as long as we've got snacks to boot, we can stay outside indefinitely!

And finally, here is a picture of how Kylie likes to be put to bed. We've got this whole ritual down with putting on her music and turning on the noise machine and whatever.  But when I go to get her out of bed when she wakes up, her dolls have all been thrown on the floor.  So I don't think she actually sleeps with them.  It's just the ritual.
