Kate joined the running club at school and I had fun running with her and a couple of my friends and their kiddos once a week after school. Running Club finished off by supporting a local 5K and so we signed up the whole fam - They did great! Aly ran ahead with a friend and the rest of us ran/walked at the little girls' pace. (Which also happened to be my pace!) Kate and Kylie did great! Kylie was by far the youngest racer (all the other kids there her age were being pushed in strollers). Every time she said she was ready to run she would ball her hands up into tight little fists and just take off. What a trooper!
After the race there were booths with free activities for the kids. And, no surprise, even though the kiddos were complaining for the last mile that their legs hurt, they suddenly had plenty of energy to jump in the bouncy house! They also had free face painting (Kylie loved being Elsa) and balloon toys (Kate loved her "air" guitar and Lise got a flower hat).
Aly had another great soccer season with lots of friends from the fall and a few new friends too. Chris and I loved our "mini dates" at Aly's games, and Chris was still one of the loudest parents out there cheering the team on.
Analise's personality really started to bloom at the end of this school year as well as she made some good friends in her class. She was really pumped for field day!
Kate also had a great year with her class and made some fun friends.
All the while, Chris had been training for a Spartan race. And it was a beast - no, literally! - that's what it was called, "The Beast." It was a 1/2 marathon interspersed with all sorts of crazy obstacles that you don't know what they are ahead of time. But seriously, those 13 miles are up and down some crazy hills that are so steep you have to almost crawl up them - it's more like hiking up a mountain. Sometimes I wonder about Chris' warped sense of fun. But he loves this stuff and he's really good at it, so yeah, you're awesome Chris!!

In addition to all the outdoorsy fun we were participating in, there were also concerts and awards ceremonies to attend to. Here is a picture of Aly and her friend, Lindsey, after her Chorus concert. I didn't get any pictures during the concert because Aly was standing behind the poofiest haired girl ever! But it was a great concert with an 80's big hair band theme. Aly had been belting out Bon Jovi's "Living On a Prayer" and songs by Queen nonstop at our house for the past 3 months.
The girls did really well at the awards ceremonies as well with all of them achieving the honor roll and Lise and Aly getting recognition for being in Beta Club.
Kylie had her preschool graduation and sang a bunch of fun songs. It is really crazy that my youngest is now a kindergartener!!
