Wrapping Things Up (May 2019)

If you have kids in school, May is always the crazy month of wrapping up school, extracurriculars, finals, etc.  It is sometimes referred to as Maycember - or December without the presents. 😉

Okay, so maybe there were a few presents . . . here's what my girls gave me for Mother's Day.  I always love all the cute and funny sayings that come out of the papers they give me.  Chris also sent me some beautiful flowers for Mother's Day.  Love that guy who supports me in my role as a mother.  He's always telling me what a good job I'm doing and I love him for appreciating my efforts to give my best to our family, as imperfect as it is.

Kylie had her last field trip to support "Grasses in Classes" that they'd been working on all year.  They got to go plant native grasses to help restore a natural wetland habitat.

Stacy finished up volunteering in the library and mentoring for the year.

Kate performed in her spring play for Drama kids and was a huge hit!  She had great comedic timing as the younger "hick" sister who is desperate to get married.  Love the deep red lipstick she smeared all over her face.

I also love the good friends that Kate made this year.

Kate received high honors for excellent academic achievement.  Go Kate!!

Lise received her Chef's jacket for passing the Culinary Serve Safe Exam.  Love that it has her name on it!

Lise also received the duck award for mastering doctrine mastery in seminary.  Go Lise!  So proud of you.

May is also the time for dances.  Youth Prom, anyone?  (Formerly known as Mormon Prom 😉)

What a great group of youth!

Oh, and let's not forget the high school prom . . .

As temperatures started to rise and summer was on the horizon, May seemed like a great time to get a membership at the country club pool.  Oh yeah, we've got to have some way to stay cool this summer!

It's also a great time to have friends come to stay over and share the pool with you!  Our great friends, the Sheppards, stayed at our house for a few days while their parents were gone.  It was a great last hurrah before they moved to Texas.  We sure miss them!

Oh, and also these friends are gluten-free due to Celiac disease.  I never cooked so much!  (It was good food too!)

May seems like a great time to get your braces off as well.  Woot, woot!

And finally, FINALLY!  as the last day of school comes into view, May seems like the time to take a breath of relief and take some time to hang out and chill with some friends.  You did it!  Another successful school year is down in the books!
