Just a Smattering of Everything (April 2019)

April started off with a Niceville Wards' combined production of "Women at the Well".  My good friend, Carrie, who is always the mastermind behind the Christmas Parade choreography, devoted her talents again to this project and it turned out spectacular.  After months of practicing, we were ready to perform.  I was able to dance in 2 numbers: "Women at the Well" and "He Came for Me".

The first weekend in April was whirlwind of activity, fun, and spiritual stuff.  Friday was the youth auction/fundraiser, complete with dessert auction (check out that delicious fruit pizza!), hilarious skits, and Hawaiian BBQ catering by Pounders.  The kids did a great job auctioning off food and service and made a ton of $$$ to help cover camp!  Good job kiddos!

That weekend also happened to be General Conference.  Good thing we had some leftover fruit from the fruit pizza to put on our waffles! 😉  Conference was really good.  There weren't a ton of earthshattering announcements and it was good to just listen to the speakers and enjoy the Spirit.

Saturday night I also met a couple friends for dinner and we went to see the High School production of "Mamma Mia" (and support one of my Laurels, who was the main set crew chief!)

April was also the time for some academic awards.  Congrats to both my girls for getting Academic Honors.  You both worked hard and earned it.

And finally, April was a great time to take a youth temple trip.  It is always so rewarding to see the youth in the temple.  One of the highlights of working in the Young Women's program.  Also, love having 3 daughters there and seeing them love on each other.  😁

The rest of April was just a bunch of random stuff that makes up our lives:

* The Baby Blanket:  Each of my girls received a special baby blanket from my mom when they were born that they love to death.  Analise had loved on hers so much that it was falling apart and she asked me if we could take it to someone to patch up all the worn-out spots.  I remembered that my mom actually had 2 of that same patterned blankets in her pile so I asked my dad if we could have the other one.  Look at how faded the pattern was on the old one after 15 years of love and washes.  I thought she would put the old one in her memory box and start using the new one . . . but now she just loves on both of them. 😊

* Some Aly Bucks:  Aly has a friend from HEFY who randomly sent her some money with Aly's face on it.  Classic!

* Broaches:  Kate has taken it upon herself to make cloak broaches from her favorite book series, Keeper of the Lost Cities, for her and her friends.  She literally cut pieces of cardboard out and painted these by hand.  Amazing!

* Hand-designed sweatshirt:  Along those same lines, Kate created a sweatshirt for herself online with quotes from the same aforementioned book series.  She really likes this book series!!

* All of Kylie's awesome artwork for the year.

* Kylie learning to ride her bike with no training wheels - woot, woot!!

* Lise and Kate imitating Napoleon Dynamite by pulling the rip stick behind their bike.  (They refer to this as "wakeboarding".  When they pull a scooter it's called "waterskiing")

* Getting your picture taken with the Easter Bunny at an Easter dinner with friends.  😆

* Yoga with the Young Women - let's get flexible!

* Going to a Roaring '20s themed dinner murder mystery for a friend's sweet 16.  So fun to get dressed up!

* And finally, heading to DQ with friends to celebrate making Color Guard again for next year.  Woot, woot!  You go girls!  Can I get a dab? 😂
